Exchange LA (pictured above)
Located in downtown Los Angeles, Exchange LA is a beautiful 25,000-square-foot 1930’s building featuring Art Deco design that actually was home to the Los Angeles Stock Exchange for a time. When it moved in 1986, the space was refurbished and redesigned to leave as much of the original architecture and elements as possible, including an antique stock trading monitor and a massive grand stairway perfect for an impressive entrance. Great for corporate events, awards presentations and after-hours parties.
The Natural History Museum
One of the best things about events at the Natural History Museum is that they take place inside the galleries. Guests can sit at the Chimpanzee Table or dine under dinosaurs! And the museum is one of the few cultural institutions in Los Angeles that welcomes weddings and personal celebrations in addition to corporate affairs and non-profit organizations.
In recent news, the Historic Rotunda has reopened – a dramatic space for weddings. Many events will begin in the Grand Foyer then move into the African Mammal Hall, North American Mammal Hall and the Fin Whale Passage or any combination of the three. And as the people at the museum like to say, only the fossils are set in stone. When it comes to floor plans, they are happy to work it out so you can be wed with the elephants or dance with mammals!
Fowler Museum at UCLA
Located on the campus of UCLA, the Fowler Museum has several options for events. The UCLA Art Council Amphitheater, which accommodates parties of 200 to 400 people, is perfect for a reception before a lecture, film or video show in the adjacent state-of-the-art Harry and Yvonne Lenart Auditorium (capacity 326). Upstairs, the outdoor Fowler Museum Terrace offers a view of the campus and accommodates 200 guests. And in the middle of the complex, the Elizabeth and W. Thomas David Courtyard is a fully enclosed landscape courtyard. This tranquil setting with a central fountain can accommodate 40 to 150 people.
Step foot in this historic Los Angeles landmark and be instantly transported back in time. This Spanish Revival masterpiece with its soaring ceilings and art deco artistry sets the stage for a dramatic wedding, corporate event, and private dinner. The palatial space can seat 500 with a dance floor or accommodate 1,000 for cocktails. Outside the main terminal, a formal garden with a private courtyard feeling makes a perfect ceremony site or cocktail area.
The historical buildings, brick-lined alleys and Plaza at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument provide a picturesque setting and a unique venue to hold special events, conferences, community meetings and receptions.
Once a 1980’s smog check center, The Smog Shoppe today is one of the city’s hippest event locations, dubbed Los Angeles’ “greenest urban oasis.” Located centrally in the city, The Smog Shoppe exceeds nearly every requirement in very category of the U.S. Building Council’s Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum Certification. The 6,500 indoor-outdoor site is 100- percent solar powered, and is a haven of desert plants, vertical garden, chic desert furnishings and dozens of stylish, recycled and sustainable features.
Rancho Sol de Pacifico
This venue really has to be seen to be believed. A private villa hovering high in the mountains above the Pacific Ocean, Rancho del Sol offers breath-taking views, an amphitheater that seats 450, koi ponds, black-bottom “lagoons” within its lush landscape and natural California beauty as far as the eye can see.
